Part of the restaurant is set aside as the "Annon Cafe", with educational displays, etc. related to the 750th/120th Anniversaries. It may still be available at the Honpa Hongwanji temple at 1727 Pali Highway, for those of you in Hawaii. Jake performed the two pieces from the mini-EP during the Hongwanji's celebration banquet at the Hilton Hawaiian Village this past Saturday. It was great to hear him again. I heard him several years ago but honestly wasn't that into his style of playing. He seems to have "matured", and I liked it enough that I bought a disc for myself. My daughter liked one of the other pieces he performed, "Let's Dance", and asked me to find it. He also played a duet "Piano Forte", with Kirk Shimabukuro (not related), who's exceptionally talented too.
