The economy might suck, but ukulele sales don’t

npr

Leo Biovin sent me the link to this nice article on NPR (National Public Radio) yesterday. According to the article (which also has an audio version if you prefer to listen instead of read), overall instrument sales are down around 20%, but not for the uke. Apparently, ukulele sales at Elderly Instruments are up 10-15% this year.

Has the economy put a damper on your UAS (Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome)?

    Julie,

I was perusing the internets for toy cameras, and found this little gadget: http://www.brooklyn5and10.com/category-s/60.htm . It’s a build it yourself ukulele!

  2. Uke popularity is still on it’s constant rise. It makes sense, cheap instrument, and once you’ve got one, it’s free to play so it really dosen’t matter how much money you have.
